2016.09.07GRESB released its 2016 Assessment Results. The number of participants form Japanese market has increased to 46 (33 listed and 13 private). Among them, 30 J-REITs participated this year with nine of them joined for the first time. It now covers 78% of the J-REIT market based on the market value (at the beginning of September 2016).

2016.08.23Ryuichi Horie, Principal will be one of panel speakers in the Day 2 session ”Building as the solution: examining opportunities in sustainable Asian real estate” at the PRI General Meeting scheduled between 6-8 September, in Singapore. This year’s meeting commemorates 10th anniversary, and Mr. Takejiro Sueyoshi (Special Advisor to the UNEP Finance Initiatives in the Asia Pacific Region) and Mr. Hiromichi Mizuno (the Executive Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer at the GPIF) will be also attending from Japan.

2015.09.02Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) released its 2015 Survey Results. The number of participants form Japanese market has increased to 35 (24 listed and 11 private). Among them, 21 J-REITs participated this year with five of them joined for the first time. It now covers 60% of the J-REIT market based on the market value (at the end of August 2015).

2015.04.21Ryuichi Horie, Principal, made a speech on “Sustainability in the Real Estate Sector - GRESB and Green Buildings” at “ARES Seminar on GRESB” on 20th April (ARES: The Association for Real Estate Securitization). In the seminar, Mr Ruben Langbroek of GRESB and Ms Y.K. Park of APG, a Dutch pension fund and a founding member of GRESB, talked about sustainability integration in real estate investment. Urban Efficiency: A Global Survey of Building Energy Efficiency Policies in Cities” is a resource for city officials around the world as they design new policies for building energy efficiency, or review existing ones. It aims to capture the range of different policies being implemented in cities, and is an initial attempt to reduce the current evidence gap regarding city-level activity in this field. It also provides detailed information on the necessary conditions, opportunities and potential challenges when introducing and implementing such initiatives, and analyses what approaches have been successful in which context and why.

2014.09.04Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) released its 2014 Survey Results. The number of participants form Japanese market has increased to 30 (20 listed and 10 private). Among them, 17 J-REITs participated this year with four of them including residential sector joined for the first time. It now covers a half of the J-REIT market based on the market value. The number of participants from Japanese real estate developers has also been gradually increasing.
